CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOW
We realize that there are instances when you must miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligations for family or work. However, when you do not call to cancel an appointment, four people suffer:
- the patient, because treatment is not being received;
- the doctor, who has reserved that particular appointment for you;
- another patient, who could have been seen in your place;
- and the clinic secretary, who has to attend to the last-minute scheduling changes.
SCHEDULING
Conversely, the situation may arise where another patient fails to cancel and we are unable to schedule you for a visit, due to a seemingly “full” appointment schedule. Cancelled appointments and no-shows are a major financial and scheduling burden for the clinic.
Therefore, we respectfully request you to notify us of cancellation at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. If we do not receive any notification, a No-Show Tag will be made on your record.
LATE APPEARANCE
We realize that delays can occur, however, we do our best to keep the other patients and doctors on time. If a patient is 15 minutes past their scheduled time, we reserve the right to reschedule the appointment to another day or move the appointment to a later time slot on the same day if the doctor’s schedule allows.
DISMISSALS
Lastly, if three appointments (Cancellations and No-Show) with no 24-hour notice should occur in a row, at our discretion, we can remove future scheduled appointments from the schedule and dismiss the patient from our practice.
