ALL ABOUT DR. BARBARA ROQUE

Dr. Barbara Roque is a an ophthalmologist whose practice includes general ophthalmology (which includes cataract surgery) with subspecialty work in pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus and ophthalmic genetics.


EDUCATION

Dr. Roque obtained her medical degree at the University of the Philippines Manila. She trained in ophthalmology at the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital where she became the Chief Resident of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. She then went on to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in Westmead, Australia for a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

She is certified by the Philippine Board of Medicine, Philippine Board of Ophthalmology (PBO) and is a member of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology (PAO), Philippine Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (PSPOS), Southern Tagalog Society of Ophthalmology (STSO), Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS), Association of Women Surgeons of the Philippines (AWSP), Philippine Medical Association (PMA), Muntinlupa Medical Society (MMS), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).

CURRENT PRACTICE

Dr Roque practices at Asian Hospital and Medical Center and at St. Luke's Medical Center Global City. She is affiliated with various hospitals and eye centers in Metro Manila and is an active member of her specialty and subspecialty organizations. She has delivered numerous scientific lectures and presentations and has co-authored textbook chapters and numerous online articles.
