To acquire a PWD ID under the Visual Disability category, we advise that you initially visit an eye doctor to obtain a proper eye examination.

If you are a person with a disability, did you know that you can get a PWD card and take advantage of the government-mandated 20% discount for clinic consultations?

But before that, it's important to note that only persons with poor vision that cannot be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, medication or surgery are eligible for a PWD card.

On your initial visit, our representatives may request for your Person With Disabilities card in order to apply your government-mandated 20% discount for clinic consultations. Once the details are recorded, it may no longer be necessary to show it in the future, and the benefits will automatically be applied.

AM I QUALIFIED TO GET A PWD CARD?

You have a VISUAL DISABILITY if your:

  • vision is 20/70 (by Snellen Chart or equivalent) or worse in the better eye
  • field of vision is less than 20 degrees wide (by automated perimeter) in the better eye
  • vision cannot be improved by eyeglasses, medication, or surgery

Only persons with poor vision that cannot be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, medication, or surgery are eligible for a PWD card.

Using eyeglasses is NOT a basis for visual disability.
