ALL ABOUT DR. MANOLETTE ROQUE
Dr. Manolette Roque is an ophthalmologist whose practice includes general ophthalmology (which includes cataract surgery) with subspecialty work in uveitis and ocular immunology, cornea and external disease, and refractive surgery. He is a certified Carl Zeiss VisuMax ReLEx SMILE surgeon at the St. Luke's Medical Center Global City Tan Eng Gee Eye Institute Vision Laser Center in Taguig City, Philippines. As a successful early adaptor of the 3rd generation laser refractive correction, he now also offers ReLEx MILE (Micro Incision Lenticule Extraction with a 2mm incisional pocket), and combined ReLEx SMILE / MILE with TE-CXL (Trans-Epithelial Corneal Cross Linking). He is a certified Alcon LenSx Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS) surgeon.
Dr. Roque obtained his medical degree at the University of the Philippines Manila through the prestigious 7-year INTARMED program. He trained in ophthalmology at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital and went on to the Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary for fellowship training in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis and observership in Cornea and Refractive Surgery. He is certified by the Philippine Board of Medicine, the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology and Philippine College of Surgeons. He also has a Masters Degree in Business Administration in Health from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.
Dr. Roque is a member of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology (PAO), American Academy of Ophthalmology, Philippine Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (PSCRS), Asia Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (APACRS), American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), Asia Cornea Society (ACS), Philippine Ocular Inflammation Society (POIS), American Uveitis Society (AUS), International Ocular Inflammation Society (IOIS), Southern Tagalog Society of Ophthalmology (STSO), Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS), Philippine Medical Association (PMA), and Muntinlupa Medical Society (MMS).
Dr. Roque is affiliated with numerous hospitals and eye centers in Metro Manila and is an active member of his specialty and subspecialty organizations. He is currently the Department of Ophthalmology Chairman, and Cataract and Refractive Surgery Section Head of Asian Hospital and Medical Center. He is also the Uveitis Section Head of the St. Luke's Medical Center Global City Eye Institute. He has delivered numerous scientific lectures and presentations and has authored numerous articles and textbook chapters in print and online. He is a reviewer for local and international medical journals.
