EVO VIVA PRESBYOPIA CORRECTING ICL

EVO VIVA PRESBYOPIA CORRECTING ICL

There’s a big difference between “visual acuity” (20/20 vision is considered normal visual acuity) and “visual quality.” Many refractive procedures such as LASIK offer the promise of improved visual acuity but the quality of your vision may vary significantly based on the procedure you choose. The EVO Viva ICL provides vision correction that goes beyond LASIK. It helps you enjoy sharper, clearer, and more vivid vision, with distance, intermediate and near vision correction.

The EVO Viva ICL Difference

SHARPER VISION

When compared to other refractive surgical procedures, the EVO Viva ICL creates sharper vision. The immediate improvement of vision quality and the remarkably short and painless recovery produces a unique "WOW!" factor in patients.

NO DRY EYES

Only EVO Viva ICL's proprietary lenses are made of biocompatible Collamer. That means the lens material works in harmony with the natural chemistry of your eye and body. The ability to utilize materials your eye accepts while not reshaping your cornea means the ICL can minimize unnatural causes of dry eye syndrome.

A REMOVABLE OPTION

We describe the implant process as an additive corrective procedure. The procedure adds a corrective lens to correct nearsightedness (without astigmatism) and presbyopia. That means that should your prescription update or if other vision needs arise, if you and your doctor decide, your doctor can simply remove the lens.

QUICK PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY

The EVO Viva ICL procedure has been refined down to a quick and comfortable process. Most procedures are completed within 20-30 minutes or less. With a minimally invasive procedure, many achieve improved vision nearly immediately.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

What is it?

As the name itself, it is an implantable lens that gives excellent vision for distance, intermediate and near.

Who needs it?

This is for people who have nearsightedness and presbyopia (without astigmatism) and/or thin corneal thickness and cannot undergo LASIK surgery.

What is it made of?

It is made from soft biocompatible co-polymer of Collamer and Fibronectin. It vaults over the eye’s crystalline lens.

Which model are you using?

The EVO Viva ICL is not yet available in the Philippines. We will be offering this new presbyopia correcting phakic lens once it is available in the Philippines.

How is the implantation done?

It is inserted through a small incision in the cornea by making use of an injection cartridge. The cartridge’s tip that contains the pre-folded ICL will then be introduced into the anterior chamber. Then ICL will be slowly injected into the eye under the protection of a material (clear viscoelastic) previously placed in the anterior chamber. This is done to properly protect the crystalline lens and cornea.

Next, the lens’ four haptics will be placed below the iris. It will be done by depressing the haptics by using a special instrument.

How do I get screened?

One needs to undergo a Refractive Surgery Suitability Screening. This is similar to exams conducted in individuals desiring laser refractive surgery. It takes around 2 hours. View our refractive surgery screening page for more information.

How much is the surgery?

Since EVO Viva ICL is not yet available, we have no pricing details to share.

How soon after screening may I have the surgery?

Refractive surgery suitability screening is performed on day 1. Once EVO Viva ICL is made available in the Philippines, the appropriate lens power is ordered, and is usually available within 2 to 7 days. Special order lenses are available within 6 to 12 weeks.

How much downtime is expected?

Ocular pressures are monitored closely within the first 24-48 hours. Once the eye pressure is controlled, routine refractive surgery follow up schedule on the 1st week and 1st month post-op is suggested. Routine daily activities may be resumed after 48 hours, with minimal restrictions (swimming, strenuous activities).
